A busy working mum has revealed how she forked out $40,000 to get ‘the body of her dreams’ after spending years avoiding cameras and refusing to look in the mirror.
Linda Louwrens was 46 when she decided to head to Thailand for a mummy makeover in the hopes she would find love for herself again.
The Perth mum lost 16kg and went from a size 16 to 18 to a size 10 to 12 ‘overnight’ and says the expensive trip was the best thing she has ever done.Â
‘I had lost my spark. I blamed everyone else but then I realised it was me – the way I felt about myself extinguished my light,’ she told FEMAIL.
Perth mum Linda Louwrens used to ‘hate’ her body so she went to Thailand and got $40,000 worth of work doneÂ
The busy mum, pictured here with daughter Micah, said her self loathing got to the point where she couldn’t see any positives
Linda had loathed her appearance for years and tried ‘every diet and exercise program’ she could find but nothing worked.
‘I started to feel differently about my body after my daughter was born in 2011, by 2014 or 2015 I hated it,’ she said.Â
This lead her to throw all she knew about health and wellness in the bin, along with fruit, vegetables, and workout routines with weights.
‘I did heavy training at a gym six days per week for a year, and I didn’t lose an inch,’ she said.Â
Three years ago things got so bad that Linda would look at her feet as she shuffled into the office every day, averting her eyes from the mirror-lined entranceway.
Now she stops and checks herself out.
Lisa had her breasts lifted and implants changed, a tummy tuck, a butt lift and the fat around her bra line removed
Linda tried ‘every diet’ and exercise regime she could be find before deciding to look into surgery
‘I will even stop in there to take photos or just go in and look at myself,’ she laughed.
Linda had two operations which included a tummy tuck, butt lift and liposuction in her arms, legs and along her bra line.
She lost 16kg ‘overnight’ when doctors snipped away stubborn tissue and ‘tightened everything up’.Â
Now the mum-of-one struggles to pick her favourite asset – and says she is fond of everything.
‘I was born short with thick thighs – it is nice to have a bum that fits into jeans,’ she said.
She also had liposuction in her thighs and arms and had a face liftÂ
‘I also love that I don’t have a muffin top anymore, and that my boobs are where they should be.’
Linda chose Australian company Azurite Health and Wellness for the treatments and also went on their spiritual healing course – which helped her deal with old wounds.Â
Despite a radical new appearance straight after the surgery, Linda’s headspace was so bad she believed she still looked the same.
‘I spent the first day back in my room after the first operation hating myself. I trusted the system and surgery but couldn’t shake the feeling it didn’t work for me,’ she said.
‘I thought I just looked the same, and I was scared of the mirror so it didn’t even cross my mind to check it.
Linda used to hide her body in photos – usually behind her daughter or furnitureÂ
She says she is more confident now and more likely to go out and about with her family – she looks back at photos like this and is grateful of her choice
‘It wasn’t until the assistants came in on day four that I had the guts to look at myself and I was blown away. It was like I woke up in a movie.
‘I thought I was in a weird, vivid dream. I had a middle and my breasts were where they should be.’Â
Linda spent three weeks in Bangkok and one week in Phuket, the longest she had ever been away from her family.Â
This is Linda before she had her daughter – she said she felt she had lost her spark – but has found it since having the operationÂ
‘It was so hard being away from my daughter Micah for so long. I really struggled. And I was terrified she would be scared of the scarring,’ she said.
‘But she saw me at the airport and she said “oh mummy you look amazing” and that was a really good feeling.
‘My partner is a man of few words so when her said “wow my love” It was so nice,’ she added.
Linda said she was glad that she went on the spiritual retreat.
Linda said she would eat fruit and vegetables and stick to strict diets but nothing worked
Now she feels like she has a second chance at being healthy and happyÂ
‘My mental health is so great now, it wasn’t all about the procedure… I learned a lot too,’ she said.
‘I am more in tune with myself and the world around me and actually found myself. It is so amazing being able to love myself again.’
Linda had never done meditation before – but really thrived under the care of the team.
‘We had massages, mud wraps, detox baths with special ingredients – we did seaweed wraps and body scrubs – it was just magical,’ she said.
