Shocking surveillance camera footage has captured the moment an Argentine volunteer marine dragged the dead body of his girlfriend in a sleeping bag down the street after he killed her during a heated argument.

Jorge Rojas, 23, now faces aggravated homicide and femicide charges for the death of Agustina Nadal, 21, after confessing to police that he beat and choked her before dumping her body in a river in the early hours of November 27.

Rojas killed Nadal – who also worked as a volunteer marine – after an argument at their apartment in the Buenos Aires city of Bahia Blanca – just hours of the couple watched Argentina’s soccer World Cup victory over Mexico with friends.

In the security footage, Rojas can be seen dragging the sleeping bag holding Nadal’s body down the sidewalk near their home around 3am. A second security camera then shows him pushing a shopping cart with the sleeping bag in it.

Rojas later dumped the sleeping bag in a Bahía Blanca river, and he was spotted on camera returning to the apartment almost an hour later.

Police divers recovered Nadal’s body from a river last Wednesday.

The Buenos Aires prosecutor’s office revealed that Rojas logged into Nadal’s mobile banking account after murdering her and took out a loan for 260,000 pesos – around $1,500 – at 10:02 pm and transferred the money to his account at 10:11 pm.

He then transferred an additional 15,000 pesos – about $88 – from Nadal’s account to his account at 12:22 am.

On November 28, Rojas reported to his shift at Commander Espora Naval Base, where he and Nadal were both assigned as volunteer marines, and told colleagues he didn’t know where she was.

Their colleagues filed a missing person’s report the same day when Nadal failed to show up for work.

Last week Thursday, Rojas visited a local police station where he confessed to murdering Nadal. He told police he had beaten and choked her before he abandoned the body in the river.

Hours before the killing, Nadal and Rojas posted a selfie together with friends after watching Argentina play Mexico in the soccer World Cup. When her body was recovered from the river last week, she was wearing the same Argentine soccer jersey she had on in the selfie.

Friends of the couple told Todo Noticias that Nadal had grown tired of Rojas’ jealousy and wanted to end the relationship.

Nadal first introduced Rojas to her family as a friend during a July trip to her hometown in Guaymallén, a city in the province of Mendoza, her aunt Lorena told the outlet.

Lorena learned through one of her nieces that Rojas had a restraining order placed against him by the mother of his son, which raised concerns within Nadal’s family.

‘This guy (Rojas) wanted to shut her off. He wouldn’t let her be,’ she said. ‘He was very toxic and invasive. He was always controlling her and she didn’t like that at all.’

Lorena said that Nadal last spoke to her family moments after the end of the Argentina-Mexico soccer match and said that she was going to go shopping.
