Meghan’s ‘head of audio’ at Archewell ranted on TikTok that SHE – not the Duchess – created Spotify podcast Archetypes… just WEEKS before she quit ‘Team Sussex’

  • Rebecca Sananes claimed that she is the creator of Meghan Markle’s podcast
  • She complained on TikTok after Meghan was named a ‘powerful podcaster’
  • Ms Sananes launched her rant just weeks before she resigned as head of audio

The departing ‘head of audio’ at Meghan and Prince Harry‘s company ranted on TikTok that she created the Duchess of Sussex‘s award-winning podcast.

Archetypes executive producer Rebecca Sananes launched her complaint after after the Hollywood Reporter published its ‘Forty most powerful people in podcasting’ list and failed to include her.

Ms Sananes attributed the success of podcasts, including Archetypes, to the ‘under-valued, under-credited and under-paid’ producers.

Meghan, who launched the podcast as part of an £18million deal with American audio giant Spotify, said hosting the show has made her feel like a changed woman.

In a rant on the teenagers’ favourite video-sharing app, just weeks before her departure from Archewell was reported, Sananes announced: ‘I am the executive producer and creator of Archetypes, hosted by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.’

‘The 40 most powerful people in podcasting are not executives, they’re not celebrity hosts, and they’re not talent agents,’ Sananes said.

‘They are the producers. Producers edit, research, write, make scripts, make the sound good, score, everything you love about your favourite podcast is because a producer made it and producers are being under-valued, under-credited and under-paid and it’s making the industry boring and slow. Let’s do better.’

The first season of Archetypes has seen Meghan joined by guests including Mariah Carey, Serena Williams, Jameela Jamil and Paris Hilton.

When the Duchess of Sussex launched the much-hyped she said she felt a changed woman.

‘It’s so real,’ she gushed. ‘I feel different. I feel clearer. It’s like I’m finding – not finding my voice. I’ve had my voice for a long time, but being able to use it.’
