Amanda Holden reveals she drinks sherry at 10AM on Christmas Day and ‘gets up before the children’ for the exciting celebration

She was spotted enjoying a glass of bubbly in the morning after finishing the Heart FM Breakfast Show earlier this week.

And Amanda Holden has revealed that the festive spirit means she starts the booze earlier in the day and has a sherry at 10AM on Christmas every year.

The presenter, 51, added that she loves the day so much that she ‘gets up before the children’ to kick things off.

Talking to The Sun, the mother-of-two detailed her excitement for the annual holiday. 

‘I get up before my children. I absolutely love getting other people presents and so that makes Christmas for me,’ she explained.

She continued: ‘But my favourite thing is cooking the lunch with my mum and drinking sherry at 10 in the morning.’

And it seems to have come earlier for Amanda this year, who wrapped up her presenting duties on Heart FM’s Breakfast Show this week. 

Celebrating, she donned a bright pink sequin jumpsuit and enjoyed a glass of champagne at around 10AM after the morning show.  

The star took to Instagram to share the glamorous ensemble with her 1.8M followers, posting a video in slow-motion as she flipped her hair back and forth.

‘Merry Christmas to you all. Thanks for the love, support and good humour!! I love you all,’ penned the mother-of-two over the clip.

And showing they were thoroughly in the festive spirit, she and co-presenter Jamie Theakston recreated scenes from Christmas films including Bridget Jones’ Diary, The Holiday and Elf in Heart Breakfast’s ’12 Scenes of Christmas’ earlier this week. 

Amanda channelled characters including Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) from The Holiday, Cindy Lou Who from How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) from Bridget Jones’ Diary.

Meanwhile, Jamie played stars of festive films including Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, The Snowman from the film of the same name and Buddy’s adoptive father Bob Newhart (James Caan) from Elf.

In one scene, Jamie and Amanda recreated the film The Santa Clause, and as Jamie, dressed as Scott Calvin, shouted: ‘Hey you, get down from there’, Father Christmas fell to the ground.

Amanda, dressed as Charlie Calvin, his son, then walked up to him and exclaimed: ‘It is Santa, you killed him!’
