Allison Langdon turns heads in a VERY striking outfit for Melbourne Cup

Allison Langdon is known for her chic and and conservative clothing choices. 

But on Tuesday, the Today show host branched out to make a fashion statement in an arty frock while attending Melbourne Cup festivities in Sydney.

The $820 High Tide mesh dress from designer Louisa Ballou, which is described as an ‘unconventional perspective on resortwear’, features bright splashes of colour.

The 43-year-old divided opinion with the frock when she showed it off on an Instagram post. 

‘Love you Ali, but not that dress,’ one follower of the television personality commented under the image. 

‘Is this a fake account? I don’t think Alley would dress like this,’ another person questioned.

‘That’s a definite no no,’ someone else who wasn’t a fan of the frock chimed in. 

Others however loved the outfit, with one fan raving, ‘Gorgeous outfit. Where is it  from?’ 

‘What a dress!’ said someone else, while another wrote, ‘Ally please wear this dress on the Today show’.

Allison flaunted the gown while posing for photos at Café Sydney where she was attending a Melbourne Cup Carnival event. 

Posing alongside Todd Cummins, she looked radiant in the black frock with splashes of neon yellow and red, reminiscent of a bird of paradise flower.

She completed her look with towering pointed stiletto heels and a soft, peachy makeup look.
