Alison Hammond is engaged to her landscape gardener beau Ben Hawkins, her future father-in-law has confirmed.
Chatting exclusively to MailOnline Colin Hawkins, 72, said that wedding bells are on the horizon for the pair after they both ‘proposed to one another’.
When asked if Ben and Alison were marrying, Colin replied: ‘I do know they have both proposed to one another but there are no rings that I know of.’
He also said how Alison, 48, was the ‘nicest woman we’ve ever met’ and spoke of how happy the pair are.
It comes after the loved-up couple were pictured for the first time together last Monday as she left Ben’s home wearing a green dress and a camouflage coat.
The This Morning star is said to have fallen for Ben – who was pictured today at his Birmingham home – after employing him to tend to her garden at her West Midlands home almost two years ago.

It’s thought they have been together for around a year and a half now.
Speaking at his family home in Redditch, Ben’s father Colin has now said: ‘They are really happy but they haven’t got everything sorted just yet but they are both talking about marriage, that is true.
‘What I do know is that when it happens none of us will know about it because it’ll be done in private. That much they have told me.
‘I love Alison to bits. She’s the nicest woman we’ve ever met. I would love to tell you a load of stories and they are all good, but I can’t because she’s asked us to keep things private.
‘If you go to her when you’re in trouble, she will help you, that’s the way she is. I know they will get it together and I won’t be there to see it but it will be a very proud day for me. I will be Alison’s father-in-law and that’ll be lovely.’

It was previously revealed she had a mystery man she was ‘willing to marry.’
The fun-loving television presenter is said to have employed Ben to tend to the plot at her West Midlands home two years ago, with the pair hitting it off.
The Sun claimed the duo were also spotted together again on Valentine’s Day.

Ben, who lives with his parents is said to be completely in love with Alison and she previously said about her man, who was a mystery at the time: ‘He loves me to bits.
‘He absolutely worships me and massages my feet every single day.’
Alison recently teased fans about her love interest and has told them that she is willing to marry her ‘mystery man’.
The former Strictly star described him as ‘lovely’ and said on ITV’s This Morning how she’d ‘had him hidden for a year and a half . . . and no-one knew!’

Alison said: ‘What do you mean I’m not available? I’m available!’
After the presenters went debated her relationship status, Alison teased: ‘Is there someone in my life?’, to which Dermot remarked, ‘I think so!’
Giggling Alison joked: ‘Can you believe Dermot outed me on the TV?’
A beaming Alison then joked that her co-host had ‘told the whole world’.
The duo then erupted into laughter before Alison told ITV viewers: ‘I have got somebody guys, I’m off the market, I’m so sorry guys!’

Speaking on an episode of Lorraine Alison beamed from ear to ear as she discussed her beau.
She told host Lorraine Kelly, 63: ‘He makes my heart sing and I feel content, he enriches my life in way that I can’t explain.’
Alison was previously married to cab driver Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares son Aiden, 18.
