Acid attack victim says leaked voice notes alleged to be of Ferne McCann ‘shattered’ her confidence

An acid attack victim who was branded a ‘silly b****’ in leaked voice notes allegedly recorded by Ferne McCann says the star shattered her confidence in a matter of minutes.

Sophie Hall, 27, was badly scarred when Ms McCann’s then-boyfriend Arthur Collins threw acid into a London club in 2017. Ms Hall was 21 at the time of the attack.

She is now urging ITV to ‘take action’ and hold Ms McCann, 32, accountable after an anonymous Instagram account leaked voice notes on Wednesday allegedly sent by the reality TV star.

Ms Hall, whom Ms McCann allegedly referred to as ‘one ugly f***ing c***,’ told the Sun she had spent five years rebuilding her confidence and ‘now in just minutes all my hard work has been shattered by these malicious voice notes.’

The acid attack victim slammed the First Time Mum star for being ‘cruel and vicious’ and has questioned why she should still be ‘given the platform to tear down others.’

ITV has reportedly stopped filming the show while bosses hold talks with Ms McCann, whose friends claim the messages were part of an ‘ongoing hate campaign’ against her.

But Ms Hall, who reached the final of a Miss England final 15 months after the sickening acid attack, still feels the network needs to take additional actions to hold the TV personality accountable for her actions.

‘ITV need to address what’s been said by Ferne. She needs to be held accountable and so do they,’ Ms Hall told The Sun.

‘ITV don’t just need to take action for my sake, but for other leaked voice notes.

‘The ones which were body shaming and so unkind.’

The former pageant competitor, who was left with scars following the attack, revealed that she has spent years trying to rebuild her confidence.

She argued that Ms McCann’s remarks caused a regression of the progress she had made thus far.

‘I feel sick to my stomach,’ she explained. ‘It has taken five years to rebuild my confidence after the attack. And now in just minutes all my hard work has been shattered by these malicious voice notes.’

She said: ‘I was speechless when I first listened to them. It’s not OK on any level for her to be saying this about me. It’s disgusting.

‘Why should anyone who has been so cruel and vicious with their words be given the platform to tear down others? To make them feel worthless and like they’re not good enough?’

The voicemail message posted by the anonymous Instagram account, claiming to be sent by Ms McCann, discussed Ms Hall entering the 2018 beauty pageant.

A woman’s voice can be heard saying: ‘I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, the silly b***h has made a dress… A papier mache dress out of the newspaper cuttings from the event.’

In another post, the woman says: ‘She’ll probably win it I’m not gonna lie, only because the event and the awards that she has entered or beauty competition, whatever it is.’

‘They’re probably loving all this free press for their event so they’ll probably fix it, she’ll win it.’

Ms Hall, after hearing the memos, told The Sun: ‘I’m in a state of shock and disbelief.

‘Ferne herself has said before that she struggles with her own appearance. So to be commenting on how someone else looks — regardless if it was never meant to be heard — is wrong.’

The beauty pageant contestant said she would like to ask the star ‘why are you targeting me?’ and how she ‘would feel if the shoe was on the other foot.’

Ms Hall said: ‘I would ask Ferne, “What have I ever done to you? Why are you targeting me, when all I’ve been trying to do is make a positive out of a terrible and traumatic experience that I sincerely hope no one ever has to go through in their lifetime?.”

She added that Ms McCann ‘sending a message with such hurt really does question her character and credibility in all that she stands for.’

The Instagram account — named Lady Whistledown after the gossip from Netflix’s hit show Bridgerton — later released another post, stating more voice notes, allegedly from Ms McCann, would be sent over the next 24 hours.

However, a source close to the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star told MailOnline the messages have been ‘spliced together’ from separate recordings in a bid to ‘destroy her’.

The source explained: ‘Ferne is devastated by the content of these voice messages. This is part of an ongoing hate campaign against her.

‘The latest message has been spliced together from different WhatsApp recordings.

‘The messages are about four and five years old and out of context.

‘The person releasing the private voice recordings is trying to destroy her.

‘The fact they kept the private voice messages for so long and are now releasing them shows what sort of sick person they are. It isn’t just hurting Ferne, it’s hurting the people being talked about. Ferne’s very aware of that as well.’

A source familiar with production told The Sun the ‘next series is up in the air.’

‘Conversations are ongoing about when the show may resume filming. ITV have held talks with Ferne about the situation and they will continue to speak with her to see where they go from here,’ the source alleged.

‘They have worked with her for over a decade and want to see how this plays out.’

The Instagram account had previously been suspended after Ms McCann reported it to the police when it released posts allegedly from the reality star in which she branded her former TOWIE pal Sam Faiers, 31, a ‘fat c***’ and ‘narcissistic b**ch’.

Ms Faiers and Ms McCann, who starred alongside one another on The Only Way Is Essex, have been friends for over 20 years.

Meantime, Collins is currently serving 20 years in prison after he threw acid in an East London nightclub in April 2017 and injured 14 people.

The former scaffolder – the father of Ms McCann’s five-year-old daughter Sunday – was convicted of five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, and nine counts of actual bodily harm against 14 people, including Ms Hall.

Collins has reportedly had no contact with Ms McCann since his attack.

The model, following the horrific incident, did reach out to her ex-partner’s victims in a statement.

It read: ‘No one should ever be faced with violence on a night out. Ferne is focused on being the best mother she can be. She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone.’
