The Block’s contestants lashed out at controversial couple Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra during Monday night’s episode of the show.

Sharon and Ankur redesigned their living space and installed a large mirror despite being ‘cut off’ by host Scott Cam.

The other contestants questioned how the couple were able to purchase the item after a decision was made to freeze their spending.

‘This is where I’m also confused, right. There’s no money, there’s apparently absolutely no money, so where’s that mirror from?’ Rachel said.

‘What really set me off was walking into house three who apparently have gone so far over budget and seeing things that I know have cost money… So all you can think is, why should we stick to one rule, when there seems to be other rules happening in other houses.’

Jenny also agreed, adding: ‘I thought once you get cut off, you get your card taken and you actually get cut off, you can’t really finish.’

He bluntly told the pair they are no longer permitted to hire new tradies or purchase materials without the approval of their newly appointed financial advisor.

‘I kept telling the teams they needed to watch their budgets, it got away from them. I had to step in,’ he told TV Week.

He refused to back down and told the upset couple it was a ‘tough love’ decision ultimately made to help them.
