Andy Lee sparks debate as he reveals his girlfriend Rebecca Harding’s weird photo rule

TV and radio presenter Andy Lee has revealed his model girlfriend Rebecca Harding gets ‘upset’ when he takes unflattering photos of her.

He spoke about Bec’s pet peeve on statistical comedy show The Hundred on Tuesday, after a poll revealed 31 per cent of Australians believe a person being photographed by their partner should have final say on whether the picture is kept or deleted, or if it gets posted online.

Andy said Bec believes she ‘has the right to her own image’ and so gets to decide which photos her boyfriend has saved on his phone, and how he distributes them.

After speaking to a couple who were butting heads over the issue, he told the panel: ‘To me, it boils down to this: Bec, my partner, gets upset if I’ve got bad photos of her and if I post them [on Instagram] or show them to people.

‘She thinks she has the right to her own image.’

Andy said he understood this position, but argued the photographer should have some say in the matter as well.

It comes a week after Andy shut down rumours he was about to propose to Rebecca, but admitted marriage was not entirely out of the question.

The funnyman was asked about his marital status during an interview on 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erin last Tuesday – after the couple’s romantic getaway to Paris last year sparked rumours they were secretly engaged.

Radio host Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes pressed Andy on the marriage issue, asking him: ‘Why don’t you put a ring on it, so she can own half the Andy Lee fortune?’

The Hamish and Andy star laughed off the jibe before Hughesy asked him whether he was sick of people hassling him about marriage.

Andy replied with his own dig at Hughesy, who married wife Holly Ife in 2006.

‘It’s like every time I see you, I have to ask, “When is Holly gonna leave you?”‘

Andy was then asked by Erin Molan whether it was him or Rebecca who was holding off getting engaged, asking: ‘Is there any chance Rebecca wouldn’t have you?’

‘Look, there’s a chance of that,’ the comedian said.

‘I’m all for equality and if she wants to propose to me that’s certainly on the cards and no one is hounding her.’

It comes after Andy and Rebecca spoke about marriage to Stellar last August.

The couple insisted they were happy with their relationship and were getting tired of constantly fielding questions about marriage and children.

Andy added that while some people see ‘milestones’ like marriage as important, they’re ‘not for everyone’.

Rebecca said they’d already taken steps to demonstrate their commitment to each other and were taking things as they come.
