‘In January of this year we did $45million,’ he added.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands was shocked by these sales figures, which far eclipsed the revenue from the coconut water brand he launched 15 years ago.

‘We definitely cracked the code. We hit a few really important things that are a staple marketing ploy of this generation,’ Paul said.

Paul explained how he and KSI, 29, utilised their social media presence and content creation talents to keep the product in fans’ minds.

It comes after KIIS FM was forced to take precautions before the interview with Paul and KSI, due to concerns over crowd control.

The duo’s appearance on the Today show on Monday brought thousands of teenagers to Nine’s North Sydney headquarters and resulted in multiple injuries.

To prevent a similar scenario, KIIS FM called in the police and riot squads to their North Ryde studios on Tuesday morning.

Thousands of fans – mostly teenage boys – gathered outside Nine’s HQ on Monday before dawn in the hope of catching a glimpse of their idols arriving at the studio, with many determined to get on camera for their own viral moment.

Police and extra security had been called to help control the crowd, after recent meet-and-greets involving Paul and KSI descended into mayhem.

But things got out of control outside the Denison Street premises when a security guard monitoring the crowd was thrown to the ground after getting caught behind a stone barricade and was seen wincing in pain.

Multiple fans who had been promised free bottles of Prime energy drink were also injured in the push towards the barricade.

Later in the broadcast, the Today anchors interviewed Logan and KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, on a balcony overlooking the crowd carnage below – but things turned nasty when someone threw an egg at Stefanovic.
