Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains trailer shows footy star Shaun Hampson taking on pint-sized ‘villain’ Stevie Khouw

Fan favourite Shaun Hampson will make his return to Australian Survivor on January 30 in the new Heroes v Villains season.

And a trailer for the Channel 10 reality show reveals the former AFL star, 34, may have met his match in independent politician ‘Sneaky’ Stevie Khouw.

‘No more Mr Nice Guy,’ pint-sized Stevie, 62, tells Shaun in the promo, as the pair go head-to-head in a fierce-looking surf challenge.

The preview begins with Shaun baring his ripped torso while performing a series of athletic tasks with ease.

‘Shaun is an unstoppable challenge beast,’ the voice-over announces.

Later, a shirtless Shaun, who is in the Heroes tribe this season, is seen facing off with ‘villain’ Stevie in a surfing challenge.

Observing that Stevie only measures as high as the footy player’s chest in height, host Jonathan LaPaglia jokes: ‘This seems to be the match-up of the season here.’

The trailer ends with Stevie warning the castaways: ‘I have a game plan – they don’t what will hit them.’

Both of the contestants are veteran castaways who appeared on the Champions v Contenders season.

It comes after host Jonathan revealed that filming Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains proved to be a gruelling experience.

He told The Daily Telegraph the production was impacted by food poisoning and Covid-19.

Shifting the filming location from the Australian Outback to Samoa also brought challenges caused by the elements.

With a new ‘Heroes v Villains’ theme this year, past contestants collide with new ones as ‘good’ takes on ‘evil’.

LaPaglia believes all of the returning contestants were taking a huge risk given the fast-paced nature of the competition.

Some of the high-profile names taking part include actress Sharni Vinson, former Miss World Australia Sarah Marschke, and author Benjamin Law.

Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains starts Monday, January 30, on Channel 10 and 10Play
