Minx gets saved by Starz for Season 2… after HBO Max abruptly canceled the show reversing its renewal back in May
Exactly one month after HBO Max’s surprising move to cancel their new series Minx – months after it had already issued a Season 2 renewal, the show has found a savior in Starz.
Both the first season and the unaired second season – which was in its final week of production before the abrupt cancelation – were picked up by Starz, via a network press release.
The series – set in 1970s Los Angeles and following a feminist’s journey to publish the first erotic magazine for women – was renewed in May by HBO Max before the abrupt reversal.

The abrupt cancelation was just the latest cost-cutting move made following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger that was finalized in April.
The studio canceled the $90 million Batgirl movie, which was already filmed and slated for release in 2022, as a tax write-off.
They also axed HBO Max’s Little Ellen, TBS’ The Big D and the second season of Chad, while also removing original shows like The Gordita Chronicles.
