Here is the adorable moment a toddler from Louisiana is given an onion as a prank gift from his parents on Christmas. 

In the video, a young boy named Wesley is seen unwrapping the onion in front of a Christmas tree and instead of being outraged when he sees the gift, he is delighted.

Wesley’s mother said he was so excited by the gift that he played with it long afterwards.

In the video, Wesley can be seen wearing pajamas while sitting in front of a Christmas tree when his parents give him a wrapped gift.

He examined the gift for a moment before tearing into the wrapping paper. 

‘Yay!’ he says as the onion was revealed. 

 Tossing aside the paper he holds the onion in the air and cries: ‘An onion!’

‘Do you like it?’ Wesley’s parents asked, and the boy said he did.

Wesley then dropped the onion before picking it back up. 

The parents told ABC 7 Wesley had been looking forward to Christmas and they thought it would be funny to give him a joke gift.

But they said their son was so excited and enthusiastic that he played with the onion afterwards.

‘He is such a grateful, loving child,’ his mother said. ‘We are blessed.’
