‘It’s dark rooms, sunglasses and 6 weeks of steroids’: McFly star Tom Fletcher rushed to hospital with concerning eye condition
Tom Fletcher has revealed he had to rush to hospital on Sunday due to suffering from a painful eye condition.
The McFly star, 37, has to undergo six weeks of steroid treatment to treat a bout of uveitis.
The eye condition is caused by inflammation of the middle layer of the eye, called the uvea or uveal tract.

It can cause eye pain and changes to your vision, and needs to be treated early to avoid risk of glaucoma or cataracts, according to the NHS.
Tom took to his Instagram on Monday to share a picture of himself, with one of his eyes looking noticeably swollen and droopy.
Explaining his recent absence from social media, the Strictly Come Dancing star said he had been ill for a few days.

He said: ‘Sorry I’ve been quiet for a bit. I was wiped out with some sort of illness and in bed for a few days.’
He then went on: ‘I just got back on my feet yesterday and uveitis decided to kick me down again.’
Tom added his gratitude to the NHS for their ‘amazing’ help and personally singled out his ‘hero’ optician.

He wrote: ‘Very grateful to have a dedicated eye A&E hospital in London! It’s the 2nd time I’ve stumbled into that place holding my eyes and they’ve been amazing.
‘Also, shout out to my amazing optician, Dipesh at @parkerandhammond who was giving me advice at nearly midnight last night. Hero!
