Argentina’s World Cup winners partied until daylight in Doha following their dramatic final victory over France on penalties.

Lionel Messi and Co got their hands on the trophy after a breathtaking game on Sunday night that was arguably the greatest World Cup final of all time.

Following the match, Argentina’s celebrations continued long into the night – and through to daylight – as they enjoyed a ‘romantic’ dinner of Milanese, fried eggs and fries.

The World Cup trophy was the centrepiece to the dinner with images on the players Instagram accounts showing the team eating around a table, with the World Cup in the middle.

Elsewhere, midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who impressed at the tournament, posted a video on his Instagram account of Lautaro Martinez looking worse for wear with his World Cup winners’ medal around his neck.

The post was shared at 6.53am local time in Qatar and in the background the sunlight was shining through.

Paulo Dybala, who scored a penalty in the shootout, shared a photo of the team enjoying their ‘romantic’ dinner.

However, as he panned around in the video, the World Cup trophy was on display in the middle of the room as the Argentines continued to enjoy their triumph.

Penalty hero Emi Martinez also shared some snaps from the celebrations as players relaxed and played snooker, while one photo also seemed to show them enjoying a game of FIFA.

Argentina are set to take off from Doha at around 2pm on Monday to return to Buenos Aires for an emotional homecoming.

There is a stop-off in Madrid on the way, with the team expected to land back home between 10pm and midnight (GMT).

An official celebration with fans is planned on Tuesday – although a time and place is not confirmed yet.

Following their victory, the trophy lift took place on the Lusail Stadium pitch before the jubilant players took the party back to the dressing room.

Messi led Argentina’s World Cup celebrations with the star seen dancing on top of a table in the changing rooms – in footage recorded by Sergio Aguero.

After getting on the table, Messi was joined by his teammate Lautaro Martinez who jumped up to dance with the World Cup trophy.

The former Barcelona star then partied with the $10m cheque Argentina were given after winning the final.

The chanting went quiet whilst Messi was being presented with the cheque but when it was handed over to Argentina’s No. 10 normal service resumed and the champions chants started back up again.

After Messi finished dancing on tables and with cheque, the celebrations became slightly more unorthodox.

One of the Argentina staff members decided there was no better way to celebrate than somersaulting into a bin.

Buoyed on by their colleagues as if they were doing the long jump at the Olympics, this member of staff launched himself into the bin headfirst.

After getting out of the bin the now-gymnast was greeted to plenty of cheers and plenty of alcohol as they made their way up from the floor.

The players then held a victory parade in Qatar before the celebrations continued through to daylight.
