Russian Simeon Boikov ‘Aussie cossack’ allegedly filmed pushing Ukrainian supporter down stairs 

An notorious pro-Russia online commentator has been arrested after scuffling with demonstrators at a Sydney rally in support of Ukraine.

Simeon Boikov, 32, who posts online under the nickname ‘Aussie Cossack’, shared videos to social media on Tuesday of himself attending the rally at Sydney’s Town Hall.

An elderly protester was hospitalised after sustaining a head injury during the incident with video appearing to show Boikov in a scuffle with an elderly male protester.

NSW Police confirmed they were called to the Town Hall after reports of a disturbance just after 1pm and had arrested Boikov.

‘Upon arrival, police were told a 76-year-old man was allegedly assaulted during a planned protest,’ a police spokesperson said.

‘A 32-year-old man was arrested on scene and is now assisting police with inquiries.’

Paramedics were called to the scene about 1.20pm to help the elderly man, who had suffered a head injury.

He was transported to Sydney Hospital for treatment.

Footage live-streamed from the rally shows Boikov arguing with protesters after the incident.

Other protesters scream in shock as it appears the man hits his head on the concrete 

‘Self defence. It’s on camera,’ he told the group.

‘That was self defence caught on camera. He approached me, he grabbed me, I pushed him away.’

The Ukraine supporters are shown on the footage confronting Boikov and standing in his way as he tries to flee.

They demand he show the man again on his video – which he eventually does.

The man remains lying on the concrete as he is attended to by other protesters. 

Boikov was jailed in June for breaching court orders for naming an alleged paedophile during an anti-vaxxer rally and is currently on parole.

He appeared at another anti-vaxxer rally just days after his release in September alongside his wife Ekaterina Olshannikova also known as Katia Boikova or ‘Mrs Cossack’. 

‘I was moved in a bullet proof land cruiser, with my arms chained, in an orange jump suit, like Guantanamo Bay, and my legs were chained. It was actually outrageous,’ he told the crowd of about 100.

He then claimed many of those incarcerated with him were there because of Covid-19 rules.

‘In the prisons, there were a lot of blokes in there because of the mandates, because of the restrictions, because of the failures of government policy.’

His rambling speech included references to watching Harry Potter while in jail and a supposed quote from Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten, also known as John Lydon. 

‘John Lydon said it. The people now that are enforcing tyranny, the people now that are ruining Australian values, taking away freedoms, there should be special prisons built for them,’ he said.

There is no record of John Lydon ever commenting on Australian values.  

The investigation into the scuffle at Tuesday’s protest in ongoing, which Mr Boikov is assisting.

Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia no charges have been laid as of 8pm Tuesday.
