‘You reach an age where you accept that’s part of who you are… I was very much the leader of the band, I ran the band,’Â Brewster told AAP.Â
The rocker said that he was in charge because he was the least affected by illicit substances and alcohol.Â
‘If you were in a rock ‘n roll band in the 70s and you said you never smoked a joint, I think you’d be lying,’ he said, adding that he was ‘the least out of it’.Â

The documentary traces the band’s early days when they made just $100 for five-hour long gigs.Â
‘We’d just sleep on people’s floorboards wherever we could, it was tough times – but looking back on it, I think those were fantastic days,’ he said.Â
The Australian rock band formed in Adelaide in 1974 and were originally called The Keystone Angels.Â

They are best known for their hits Am I ever Gonna See Your Face Again, Dogs Are Talking and We Gotta Get Out of This Place.Â
The band were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in October 1998.
After several lineup changes, their members now include John Brewster, Rick Brewster, Dave Gleeson, Nick Norton and Sam Brewster.Â
