Andrew O’Keefe arrested: Deal or No Deal host accused of breaching his bail conditions

Former Deal or No Deal host Andrew O’Keefe has been arrested after allegedly breaking conditions of his bail.

NSW Police said officers arrested the one-time Channel Seven at his luxury home in Vaucluse, eastern Sydney, at about 10.40am on Thursday.

He was taken to Waverley Police Station ahead of a court hearing on Thursday afternoon where prosecutors are set to apply for his bail to be revoked. 

In May, O’Keefe was granted Supreme Court bail to attend the Connect Global rehab centre in Port Stephens.

The court ordered he spend six to twelve months at the facility, marking his tenth attempt at rehab.

O’Keefe was arrested in January and remanded in custody at Silverwater jail while awaiting trial for charges of intentionally choking a person, common assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police allege O’Keefe grabbed a 38-year-old woman by her throat and pushed her to the ground before punching and kicking her in Sydney’s CBD. 

O’Keefe claimed he acted in self-defence. The woman cannot be named for legal reasons. 

Mr O’Keefe appeared in court about 3.15pm on Thursday afternoon wearing a blue T-shirt and shorts. 

The grounds for O’Keefe’s detention have not yet been made clear.

Footage captured by Daily Mail Australia of O’Keefe’s January arrest shows the former TV star kicking and screaming as he was led to a nearby police van.

‘F*** you, I’m a victim of crime. I’m a victim of crime you f***wits. F*** off,’ he screamed while kicking the windows of the vehicle’s cell.

‘Get rid of these journalists you stupid c***s. F*** you.’

O’Keefe spent 17 years working for Seven where he hosted Deal or No Deal, The Chase and Weekend Sunrise. 

His uncle was the legendary rock star Johnny O’Keefe, while the 50-year-old’s father Barry was a NSW Supreme Court justice.
