Tensions rose in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp in Wednesday night’s episode as the stars clashed over their bed allocations.

Seann Walsh pleaded with his fellow campmates for a bed swap as he complained about having a bad back due to sleeping in a hammock, rather than a flat wooden bed.

However, Charlene White was reluctant to sleep in the RV alongside camp leader Matt Hancock despite Owen Warner‘s pleas for her to do so to give them an extra bed for Seann.

Awkward: Tensions rose in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp in Wednesday night’s episode as the stars clashed over their bed allocations

Other campmates also urged Charlene to return to the comfortable RV, where only camp leaders are allowed to sleep, while Boy George shared his refusal to swap to a hammock.

The campmates were forced to change their arrangements when Charlene, 42, decided she didn’t want to sleep in the RV alongside Matt, 44, leaving an empty bed in the RV and an extra campmate sleeping outdoors.

In a sign of tensions rising, Seann shared his concerns after another uncomfortable night sleeping in a hammock rather than a bed, complaining that he had a bad back.

He said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Whenever I see now, like a holiday postcard with someone in a hammock on a beach, I’m going to be like, ‘That is a lie!’ I want to sleep on the floor, but I’m too scared I’ll get eaten alive.’

Refusal: Charlene White shared her reluctance to move back to sleep in the RV alongside camp leader Matt Hancock despite Owen Warner’s pleas for her to do so to give them an extra bed

He asked Mike Tindall to crack his back, with the rugby player lifting him into the air in a bid to assist the comedian, 36, who then pleaded for a bed swap.

After Mike cracked his back, he added: ‘We’ve got our very own chiropractor in the jungle. When you’ve been sleeping in a banana for eight nights in a row, you need Mike Tindall to crack your back.’

In main camp, Owen Warner kindly offered to swap beds with Seann for a night, saying he would take the hammock while Seann could have his wooden bed.

‘Swap tonight if you want? We’ll take it in turns having no sleep,’ Owen said.

‘Bless you, I really appreciate that,’ a grateful Seann replied.

‘I’m saying yes to you because you’re 23. Your age has come to haunt you. Thank you.’

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Seann added: ‘I love Owen, he’s such a sweet man, coming to help Uncle Seann.’

But the bed allocations quickly became a point of tension when Owen asked Charlene if she would return to the RV, where she and Matt were given the luxury of sleeping in their roles as camp leaders.

Despite having a comfy bed and mattress in the RV, Charlene shared her reluctance to move back into the van, even though her choice left the campmates with one bed short outside.

Owen, who was allowed to sleep in the RV for a few nights alongside Jill Scott, said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘The RV is lovely. A comfy bed, mattress, duvet, pillows… the RV is an unreal night’s sleep literally.’

Owen then said privately to Charlene: ‘Is there no way you’d be comfortable sleeping in the RV?’

‘Me and Seann are going to have to alternate,’ he added, referring to the lack of proper beds for all the campmates outside.

Charlene admitted: ‘I know.’

Persuaded: Owen then said privately to Charlene: ‘Is there no way you’d be comfortable sleeping in the RV?’

Owen said: ‘I don’t want to put any pressure on you. I’d rather sleep in a hammock than you be uncomfortable.’

To which Charlene conceded: ‘I’ll try it again tonight.’

Charlene admitted she felt guilty taking up a bed outside but admitted that she didn’t want to return to sleep in the RV as tensions rose.

She said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘I feel incredibly guilty about Seann’s back. But I really, really don’t want to sleep in [the RV].’

Later, Mike also shared his concerns about Seann’s bad back and told Matt to try and persuade his deputy leader Charlene to return to the RV.

He said to Matt: ‘Our leader, you need to have a word with your deputy. She needs to go back in the RV to let Seann go on the thing.’

‘Owen spoke to her this morning,’ Matt responded.

To which Owen said: ‘She said she’ll try.’

Seann then joked: ‘I think you should try the hammock George.’

However, Boy George insisted that he would not be sleeping in the hammock any time soon, adding: ‘I don’t want to be in the hammock because I won’t sleep. I don’t want to be in the RV either.’

Row: Later, Mike also shared his concerns about Seann’s bad back and told Matt to try and persuade Charlene to return to the RV, where only the two leaders are allowed to sleep

Seann joked to Boy George: ‘I can read the subtext, you want the hammock, have the hammock.’

But Boy George hit back, saying: ‘I’ve never slept in a hammock. I’m 61, I know what I want… Let’s stop this debate now.’

He jokingly added: ‘You don’t know me babe, you ain’t seen me wound up. It’s a whole other scenario. I ain’t done it for years… you’re getting ‘kick off lite’.’

Seann laughed: ‘Diet kick off!’

Jill said: ‘That’s a good one. Wait for the full fat!’

Later in the evening, Owen said it was a ‘crime’ that he, Seann and Scarlette were forced to brave sleeping in the hammock when there was a comfy bed free in the RV, as Charlene refused to move back to the van.

Refusal: Boy George said he would not be sleeping in the hammock any time soon, adding: ‘I don’t want to be in the hammock because I won’t sleep. I don’t want to be in the RV either’

The row came after Charlene recently said she wouldn’t be sleeping in the RV alongside former health secretary Matt, after the pair were awarded the privilege as a luxury for camp leaders.

Charlene and Matt have clashed throughout the show, with the journalist quizzing him on his politics while she was seen looking unimpressed after the Tory MP’s initial controversial arrival in the jungle.

Following Matt’s arrival in the camp, Charlene was quick to grill the former Health Secretary about his decision to sign up for the series.

She asked: ‘So why did you do it?’

Matt responded: ‘Because there’s, honest truth, is because there’s so few ways in which politicians can show that we’re human beings, so I just thought it would be good to do that. I’ve got a sense of adventure.’

Charlene asked: ‘So you kind of want people to see you for you?’

Matt admitted: ‘I hope so.’

Charlene went onto say in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Matt has a tough hill to climb, but he’s put himself on that hill and for me as a journalist, I have to ask him why?’

Matt said to Charlene: ‘If I can use this to sort of peel myself back a bit and just be me, it’s better.’

Charlene replied: ‘But I can imagine it would not have gone down well at all at home? You have to expect that. Because Parliament is still sitting, we’re not in recess, you know…’

Matt said: ‘I genuinely think that because we’ve now got sort of stability that is…’

Charlene stated: ‘We’ve had stability for all of five minutes Matt.’

Matt replied: ‘Rishi’s great, he’ll be fine.’

Charlene said: ‘But you can understand if people aren’t very happy at home about it?’

Matt said: ‘I understand that. But I also.. of course I get that, right. But I also just think that sometimes you’ve got to do things differently.’

Charlene said: ‘I’m not sure going on I’m A Celebrity is the way to do it but you’re doing you and it’s a decision you’ve made and honestly it will be fascinating just to see.’

The row over beds is also the latest sign of tension in the Australian jungle after viewers recently accused Boy George of trying to ‘cook up drama’ in the camp.

The singer, 61, was assigned with cleaning duties by new camp leader Matt, 44, and his deputy Charlene White and was seen undertaking his new tasks on Monday.

But things became tense as the celebrities were presented with their dinner of camel shoulder, with the former health secretary asking whether the side of potatoes could be washed before being cooked.

Raging: But things became tense as the celebrities were presented with their dinner of camel shoulder, with the MP asking whether the side of potatoes could be washed by George

The new camp rules mean the voted leaders cannot help with any of the jobs in camp while the other stars must only do the chores assigned to them.

After Matt asked if the potatoes could be cleaned, George fumed and accused his co-star of ‘kicking off’ with the request, before raging ‘you f**king clean them’ behind his back.

However, viewers were quick to take to Twitter to criticise the Karma Chameleon hitmaker of ‘grasping at straws’ for a row and ‘looking for drama’ as they pointed out washing up was simply his assigned role.

One person said, ‘Would Boy George rather eat dirty potatoes #ImaCeleb,’ while another commented: ‘Boy George is trying to cook up unnecessary drama.’

A third disbelieving viewer wrote: ‘Did Boy George really get annoyed at Matt suggesting the cleaning team help by washing the potatoes?’

And a fourth quipped: ‘Boy George just grasping at straws now. Man just wanted a clean potato #ImACeleb.’

Another called for him to be voted out in the first public elimination, adding: ‘Boy George to be voted out please. I’m no fan of Matt but him asking nicely to clean the potatoes and this grown man is crying over it?? Next.’

Other viewers called George a hypocrite for getting annoyed over Matt asking for potatoes to be washed days after he raged over a ‘horrible’ dinner of mushrooms.

‘Boy George getting annoyed that Matt Hancock wanted the potatoes washed as if he didn’t kick off about mushrooms the other day,’ one tweeted.

The tension began when Matt, who is not allowed to get involved with chores in his new role as leader, asked the camp if the potatoes could be cleaned for dinner.

‘Do you think washer-uppers could clean those potatoes? Because those potatoes are quite dirty,’ he asked.

Scarlette Douglas told him it was a ‘good idea’ before George accused Matt of getting ‘feisty’ and enjoying his power as he spoke about the request in the Bush Telegraph.

'When did he kick off?' However, viewers criticised George of 'grasping at straws' for a row and 'looking for drama' as they pointed out washing up was simply his assigned role

‘Matt was seen getting a little bit feisty earlier on when we were about to cook the meal,’ he fumed.

‘The bag came down and there were some potatoes and Matt started telling everyone he wanted them washed, and I was like ‘oh, she’s loving this bit of power’.’

Later speaking to his campmate Seann Walsh, George then accused Matt of ‘kicking off’ by asking him to wash the potatoes.

‘Food divides people, it really does,’ he added as he spoke in the Bush Telegraph.

His latest rant comes after tension was already brewing over cooking in main camp after George ranted about the ‘horrible’ mushrooms last week.

The pop star branded the camp’s meal of mud crabs and mushrooms as ‘horrible’ and said it made him feel ‘sick’ as he criticised presenter Charlene’s culinary skills.

He added that he was a ‘good cook’ in the first sign of tension as he, Chris Moyles, Scarlette Douglas and Olivia Attwood joined the celebrities in the main camp.

In the awkward swipe, Boy George said he wouldn’t be told what to do by ‘a bossy boots’ as he shared his dismay at the ‘kitchen hierarchy’, which saw Charlene, 42, and Mike Tindall offer to cook.

Speaking to Chris Moyles, he fumed: ‘I felt sick afterwards, I don’t think the mushrooms were cooked. I feel like there’s a bit of hierarchy in the kitchen with Mike [Tindall] and Charlene, there’s this patriarchy.

‘I don’t want to be told what to do by someone, quite a bossy boots.’

Radio presenter Chris, 48, admitted in the Bush Telegraph after their conversation that Boy George doesn’t like ‘authority’ as he commented on his rant.

Boy George said he was a ‘good cook’ as he shared his desire to have a go at feeding the main camp, adding: ‘When someone’s already decided they’re in charge of the kitchen, it’s difficult to have your say.’

Since, George hasn’t been assigned cooking duties but was instead given cleaning chores by new leader Matt and his deputy Charlene.
