‘No one cares about always having flattering images but to deliberately use a doctored image shows you will bully other women and have a misogynistic culture.’

Meanwhile another wrote: ‘There were far more stunning pictures of our beautiful Princess of Wales that should have been on the front page without the blatant photoshopping!

‘They should be ashamed of themselves.’

A third added: ‘Is that supposed to be Kate in the top right corner?’

A fourth commented: ‘Have The Mirror put Kate’s picture through some kind of ugly filter here?

‘It’s had something done to it – the Daily Mail’s picture is from the same day, so she didn’t have some terrible rash or anything which might change the appearance. It’s awful!’

Another added: ‘Kate is simply beautiful, sour grapes from Mirror – goodness knows why. A beautiful, gracious princess. We love her.’

Another added: ‘What has Daily Mirror done to Kate Middleton? That is weird!’

The princess joined Queen Consort Camilla, 75, to watch King Charles, 74, and Prince William, 40, lay wreaths to pay respects to Britain’s war dead.

Two minutes’ silence were observed after Big Ben tolled 11 times, marking the resumption of full operations for the newly restored Great Clock in the nearby Houses of Parliament.

Cannon fire marked the beginning and end of the silence, culminating in buglers playing the Last Post in front of the Cenotaph, before UK politicians and Commonwealth ambassadors laid their own wreaths.

A short service followed the laying of the main wreaths, with the Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullally, delivering a prayer.

The King and members of the royal family then sang the hymn O God, Our Help in Ages Past as thousands filled Whitehall.

Around 10,000 veterans marched past the Cenotaph today, including 400 who fought in the Falklands War 40 years ago.
