Sophie Monk reveals why Married At First Sight’s Al Perkins is a ‘perfect’ fit for Love Island Australia
Al Perkins’ boisterous personality has landed him a spot on Love Island Australia and Sophie Monk says he’s a ‘perfect’ fit for the show.Â
The reality television host, 42, revealed that the Married At First Sight star’s rowdy attitude meant he fit right in on-set at Mallorca, Spain. Â
After watching him on MAFS, Sophie knew he was meant for the villa, she told Yahoo ahead of season four’s premiere on October 31.Â

‘I was watching him on MAFS and straightaway when I saw him I thought, “Why is he not on Love Island?” because he had never had a girlfriend when he got married.
‘So I think it’s really good for him. He’s hilarious and he really had a good time. I don’t want to give too much away, but it was great for him.’
She went on to say the casting decision to get Al on board was ‘perfect’, revealing he wasn’t like some other reality television personalities.Â

‘He’s just a very sweet, innocent guy. He hasn’t got a bad bone in his body. He sometimes speaks without thinking, and I don’t even know if it will make the cut sometimes but he’s hilarious,’ she said.
It comes after the first Love Island Australia contestants were unveiled with just two weeks to go until the 2022 series kicks off.
A stunning medical secretary, a professional dancer and a Bondi-based fashion student are among the six gorgeous female contestants set to find romance in the Spanish villa.
Among the seven boys jetting off to Mallorca is a semi-professional footballer and self-confessed ‘mummy’s boy’, as well as a 22-year-old TikTok rapper and a pool boy.

For the first time, the series will only be airing on 9Now – Nine’s online streaming service – with new episodes dropping daily from Monday to Thursday.
The upcoming season has already been branded ‘fake’ as it’s emerged contestants have already filmed the finale.
The hit reality show has been recorded with three alternative endings and different winners.
Only one will be shown on TV, meaning finalists won’t know if they’ve won until they sit down to watch the show with the rest of Australia.
Even sources inside the show have said it may not sit well with audiences since it ‘takes away the integrity as the cast are acting and the reactions are not genuine’.
