Nicole’s glamorous character of Lisa is one of the many examples of the revival series moving away from its all-white past with Sex and the City and embracing diversity.
The Empire stunner has shared her views on the hot-button topic after many fans criticized the show’s first season for being ‘too woke’ and clumsy when it came to representing people of color. ‘They did it right,’ she told People in January. ‘It wasn’t just, they got a Black friend and we’re watching them deal. They created characters who had full lives.’
