Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Dominion dominated the box office over Father’s Day weekend by earning $58.6M domestically out of 4,697 US theaters.

The sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise – which brought back OG stars Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill – has earned a total $623.4M at the box office globally.

Colin Trevorrow’s $185M-budget movie currently has a dismal 30% critic approval rating (out of 343 reviews) and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Disney’s Toy Story spin-off Lightyear took second place with $55M domestically from 4,255 US theaters for a total of $85.6M global debut.

Angus MacLane’s $200M-budget animated movie stars Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear, the young test pilot Space Ranger, not the action figure previously voiced by Tim Allen in all four Toy Story movies.

By contrast, Disney’s critically-lauded Toy Story 4 amassed $1.073B at the global box office in 2019.
