From Blue Ivy to Prince Louise, the A-list children who have outshone their celebrity parents

Stars such as Jay Z, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian are used to being the ones making global headlines, but these days it’s their children who are grabbing attention.

From Kim’s sassy daughter North West to Prince William and Kate’s youngest son Louis, there is no shortage of celebrity offspring earning their own fame online with their adorable antics.

Most recently, it was Jay Z and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 10, who delighted the internet, when she was caught on camera reacting with utter horror and embarrassment when her rapper father planted a kiss on her cheek while they were sitting courtside at a basketball game.

But Blue Ivy is just the latest in a long line of celebrity kids to have won over the public in recent years.

Kim and Kanye West’s eldest daughter North, nine, has become loved by fans across the globe for the way she consistently roasts her own mother’s social media activity.

Elsewhere, young royals have also become the star attractions with Prince George and Prince Louis often becoming meme inspirations after attending public events with their family.

From Riley Curry’s iconic press conference interruption to Kaavia Wade’s ‘Shady baby’ facial expressions, here are some of the young celebrities who have famously outshone their famous parents.

Monday saw the 52-year-old rapper and the Formation hitmaker’s daughter Blue Ivy once again steal the limelight after she was left visibly embarrassed by her famous dad at an NBA Finals game in San Francisco.

The adorable moment, which saw the 10-year-old telling off her father for cuddling her on camera, left viewers in hysterics as they quipped the youngster was the only one who could keep her superstar parents ‘humble.’

Journalist Philip Lewis shared a clip of the exchange, writing, ‘To us: Jay Z, the all time rap legend; To Blue Ivy: embarrassing dad.’

Twitter users were quick to respond: ‘if it’s one thing blue is gonna do, it’s humble here parents’; ‘She has keep her clients in check. Legendary honestly.’; ‘She’s not embarrassed. She said exactly what my daughter would say to her dad. “Dad! My haiiiirrrr!”

‘Her parents are the most famous people in the world but she gotta keep them humble’; ‘She’s got Beyoncé’s attitude and facial expressions and I love it!’; ‘That’s the first thought that came to my mind….that’s Bey’s mannerisms’;

‘Haha she is so embarrassed’; ‘The way she keeps a straight face the whole time’; ‘Did she just say “dad, my hair”? I might just be obsessed with her’; ‘Blue Ivy is only 10 and she’s already cooler than I’ve ever been [sic].’

The headline-making moment isn’t the first time Blue has gone viral for putting her parents in their place during a public occasion.

At the 2018 Grammys, the then-six-year-old was caught ordering her mom and dad to cool it and stop clapping during Havana singer Camila Cabello’s speech about the importance of Dreamer children.

With a steely gaze, and a nonchalant ‘calm down’ hand gesture, she immediately brought them to heel as the famous pair clapped enthusiastically at her side.

Blue’s viral reaction came just days after another famous child caught attention during a very visible moment with his famous family, after Prince Louis repeatedly caught the eye of viewers during Queen Elizabeth’s platinum Jubilee celebrations in early June.

During the first day of celebrations in honor of his great-grandmother the Queen, the four-year-old was hailed ‘the real star of the show’ after his scene-stealing performance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Royal fans took to Twitter to praise the youngest son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after he pulled faces and picked his nose while watching the flypast alongside the Queen, 96, and his siblings Prince George, eight, and Princess Charlotte, seven.

One tweeted: ‘Prince Louis looks like he might be a bit of a handful.’ Another posted: ‘What a cheeky little chap Prince Louis is, made me chuckle.’

The young prince was also photographed waving enthusiastically at bystanders as he took part in the carriage ride down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade earlier in the day, but his most attention-grabbing moments came courtesy of the obviously strong bond he shares with his great-grandmother, who was seen chatting to the youngster during the flypast, seemingly in an effort to distract him from the loud noise of the aircraft.

Photos of Louis on the balcony were widely shared by royal fans across the globe, with some saying he was ‘a handful’ keeping his parents Prince William, 39, and Kate Middleton, 40, on their toes.

Days later, the young royal caused a scene once again while sat next to his mother at the Platinum Pageant.

Prince Louis pulled several amusing expressions in the royal box before he was seen clenching his fists and waving his arms in the air.

At one point, he was spotted putting his hands over his mother’s mouth, sticking out his tongue and standing in his seat for a better view of the spectacle.

After watching the clip, an anonymous poster took to parenting forum Mumsnet to say that Kate had struck a chord with parents everywhere when she spoke ‘silent words’ to Louis.

They wrote: ‘I’d love to know what she threatened him with under her breath.’

The moment sparked a slew of responses with many parents saying they could relate to Kate’s parenting struggles.

Others noted that while Prince Louis’ behaviour had been called out by some internet users, it was very normal for a four-year-old.

Meanwhile others pointed out how grateful they were to not have to parent so publicly.

The hilarious antics were reminiscent of the moment basketball star Stephen Curry had his May 2015 news conference crashed by his eldest daughter, Riley.

The then two-year-old crawled through the table skirt where Golden State Warriors star Curry was having his interview following a victory over the Houston Rockets.

Curry later scooped his daughter up onto his lap, who then waved to reporters, let out a big yawn, and interrupted Curry multiple times.

At one point, she muttered a few words and Curry told her to ‘hold on a second, OK?’ She replied, ‘Be quiet daddy,’ drawing laughs from the room.

Curry smiled and shook his head, telling reporters his daughter is usually more reserved. ‘She’s so funny,’ Curry said.

Just one year later, Riley was back in the headlines after she playfully refused to give him a kiss at full-time.

The 28-year-old’s team had just beaten the Oklahoma City Thunder 96-88 in Game 7, making it to the NBA finals.

And as the celebrations began on the court at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Curry’s two young daughters were brought down to congratulate their father by their grandfather, Dell.

But as Curry went into give the adorable youngster a kiss, she pulled away at the last minute and began giggling at her father. He then held up his finger as he appeared to beg her for just one kiss.

The young girl, now nine, eventually relented and threw herself at the MVP for a cuddle before he eventually planted a kiss on her cheek.

Dwyane had to pull his shirt up over his mouth to stifle his laughter, while others on the call also tried to keep a straight face.
