Emotional Jennifer Lopez tears up as she is hugged by kids at the Halftime premiere in NYC: ‘These little babies touch my heart!!!’
Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram on Thursday to pay tribute to a youth dance group that performed at the premiere of her Netflix special Halftime at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City the night before.
Lopez, 52, posted a clip in which she was visibly emotional as she was embraced by a group of dancers who headed her way after performing on stage.
‘What a memorable night…these little babies touch my heart!!!’ Lopez said. ‘It was so amazing to relive such an epic moment in my life…thank you to everyone who made last night so very special!!’

Lopez also shared a selfie from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda with the dancers, writing, ‘Thank you … Latinos representando!’
An Instagram message from the dance group, Dancetown Miami, made clear what an honor it was performing for the iconic entertainer.
‘And WHAT A NIGHT!!!! There are no words for how thankful we are to this incredible icon that represents what woman can do and become in this world today,’ the group said in the caption.
They continued: ‘From our hearts to yours thank you @jlo for bringing us back to celebrate your incredible debut of HALFTIME on @netflix ….. to dance for you again was such an incredible honor and to be part of this epic night is a once in lifetime experience.’

The group congratulated its ‘amazing’ dancers who ‘KILLED it on that stage last night.’
The Hustlers star responded to the message, writing, ‘I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.’
The group said in a subsequent message of the outing: ‘Memories to last a lifetime….. this is what passion, hard work, determination, and the love of dance CREATES!!!! An epic moment for our DANCETOWN FAMILY … thank you thank you thank you.’

Lopez also shared a selfie from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda with the dancers, writing, ‘Thank you … Latinos representando!’
Miranda was one of a number of celebrities at the premiere, as other notable names in attendance included Robert De Niro, Hoda Kotb, Rosanna Arquette, Ryan Seacrest, The Bachelorette’s Tayshia Adams and The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe and Melissa Gorga.
The Marry Me actress amazed at the function fashion-wise, donning a black velvet Tom Ford gown that had semi-sheer and cut-out areas, with platform sandals.
Lopez has had a busy week, as on Sunday she was honored with the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Halftime explores Lopez’s decades in the limelight as an A-list entertainer, leading up to her banner outing for the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show in 2020.
Halftime will debut on Netflix June 14.
