Thousands of women stunned after realising they have an ‘identical’ freckle in the exact same spot – so do YOU have one?

  • A 2019 post about all women having forearm freckles has gone viral again
  • The post asks women to check their right forearms for the common spot
  • Freckles are more commonly seen on parts of the body with sun exposure
  • A European study suggests women on progesterone have key freckles

Tens of thousands of women have been shocked to discover they have ‘identical’ freckles in the same place on their wrists.

The phenomenon was first highlighted in 2019 when Twitter user Aaryn Whitely noticed all of her friends had a mark in the same spot.

And while many health journals write the ‘identical spot’ off as a myth, one study suggests women who take oral contraceptives or progesterone treatments are more likely to have key dark freckles.

But it is doing the rounds again with many women shocked to have the common spot

These typically show up in areas exposed to UV rays – like the chest and wrists.

And the ‘evidence’ is overwhelming with thousands of women flooding social media with pictures of their own forearm spot.

The post was recently dug up on Facebook – causing it to go viral again with thousands of women expressing their shock at having matching freckles.

‘I am pretty sure that’s how they can tell alien humans from regular humans,’ one woman laughed.

‘Oh my goodness, I had to check straight away and I also have one,’ another woman said.

Even people with ‘a lot of freckles’ appeared to have a more defined one on their right wrist.

‘This is incredible – I have hundreds but one in that spot really stands out,’ one woman laughed.

According to Feng  Shui having a pronounced spot on your right arm means you may have to work harder than others to succeed.

But Healthline says the common spots are caused by sun exposure – with the forearms often forgotten when applying sun screen.

‘It’s a myth that all women have a freckle on their wrist. Many people have freckles on their face or hands because these body parts are commonly exposed to sunlight,’ a Healthline article on the topic explained.

This could explain why so many women appeared to have the spot

This could explain why so many women appeared to have the spot.

But some people caught up in the viral thread were less excited by the spotty coincidence.

‘Think of any body part and there will be freckles on that part in many people,’ one man said.

In 2019 many women also found they had a pronounced freckle on the top side of their left breast.
