1,000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton stunned fans when she recently showed off her tremendous weight loss transformation after shedding 300 pounds – a major feat for the woman who once weighed 717 pounds and whose family believed she’d be dead within five years.

Tammy, 36, first rose to fame in early 2020, when she starred in the TLC reality series alongside her 35-year-old sister, Amy Slaton. The show followed the sisters – who weighed just over 1,000 pounds combined – on their weight loss journey as they attempted to shed enough pounds to be approved for bariatric surgery.

And while Amy quickly saw success – she dropped from 400 pounds to 275 pounds by the end of season two – Tammy was less triumphant.

In fact, by the end of the second season, Tammy’s weight had actually soared to 665 pounds, and she soon descended on a devastating downward spiral – turning to excessive drinking and partying to cope with her severe ‘depression.’

The reality star narrowly survived the horrifying incident after spending three weeks on life support, and it inspired her to finally change her lifestyle. She soon checked herself into a food addiction program, where she has lived for more than a year now.

After years of binge eating, continued weight gain, multiple health scares, and dangerous habits, Tammy has turned over a new leaf since entering rehab.

Not only did she find love – she married a fellow patient during a private ceremony held at the treatment center – but she also finally became slim enough to undergo the weight loss surgery.

‘She has enough health problems without adding more to the fire,’ he said. ‘It’s starting to take a toll on her.

‘Do we just let her live and be comfortable, and plan, for her not being here in five years, and take care of all the arrangements?’

Her sister, Amanda, added: ‘It sucks to have to sit and have a conversation like that about final arrangements when she has the opportunity to change.’
