Padma Lakshmi sports a muted green trench coat and bootcut jeans as she steps out for a stroll with her daughter Krishna, 13, in New York City

Padma Lakshmi looked effortlessly chic as she stepped out for a stroll with her daughter Krishna in New York City on Saturday.

The 52-year-old cookbook author bundled up in muted green trench coat that she threw over a black-and-white striped top and deep blue bootcut jeans for the mother–daughter date.

The Top Chef host was spotted in a pair of maroon pointed-toe boots as they walked down the streets in the bustling city.

The Taste The Nation star — who recently opened up about suffering from endometriosis since age 13 and expressed her frustration about the lack of medication for the chronic condition — shielded her eyes from the sun with a pair of wide-frame sunglasses.

The actress appeared to be shopping with her 13-year-old daughter as she carried a small white shopping bag.

For their daytime outing, the model rocked a bold red lipstick and otherwise light makeup to highlight her natural beauty.

Her dark tresses cascaded down her shoulders in effortless, casual waves.

The Star Trek: Enterprise actress appeared to have opted for minimal accessories as she modeled only a pair of gold stud earrings.

As they walked together, the mother–daughter duo kept their hands in their pockets.

Krishna — who Padma welcomed in 2010 from her previous relationship with venture capitalist Adam Dell — opted for a more casual look.

She was seen in a black cropped puffy jacket from North Face and a pair of baggy medium-wash denim jeans.

She donned a pair of white sneakers and wore a pair of headphones around her neck.

Like her mother, she left her auburn hair down in loose, casual waves.

Recently, Padma opened up about her decades-long battle with endometriosis.

The Mayo Clinic defines endometriosis as ‘an often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus.

In an article published by The Guardian on Wednesday, she revealed she started suffering from the chronic condition at age 13.

‘Every month, being in bed for a week, trying everything, and nothing helping,’ she said.

A long battle: She also revealed that she did not receive the proper diagnosis until 23 years after she started menstruating

‘So many exams, work assignments, first or second dates, family occasions that I just went missing for because I couldn’t participate,’ she added.

She also revealed that she did not receive the proper diagnosis until 23 years after she started menstruating.

Padma expressed her frustration with how male reproductive disorders are extensively researched in comparison and have medications available to treat the condition.

‘If I had erectile dysfunction, there would be many drugs for me,’ the producer — who has undergone surgery for the condition — said. ‘But for endometriosis — not one.
