Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake admits his marriage to wife Zoë isn’t perfect: ‘We have all the ups and downs’

They are known for having one of the strongest marriages in Australian showbiz.

But Hamish Blake says his relationship with wife Zoë Foster Blake isn’t as perfect as it may seem.

‘Like anyone else, we have all the ups and downs that marriages have,’ the Gold Logie winner, 40, told the Sydney Morning Herald on Monday.

While his life may not be perfect, the Lego Masters host said he has always faced tough times with a sense of playfulness and fun.

‘The only guiding philosophy I’ve ever had is it’s always worth trying to have fun with what you’re doing,’ he advised.

‘If you’re applying effort to having fun and creating something, and trying to spread a good feeling around the world, that’s always effort well spent.’

Hamish married skincare entrepreneur Zoë, 41, in 2012. The couple are parents to two children: son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, four.

On Sunday night, Hamish delivered a touching tribute to his wife and kids while accepting his Gold Logie at the TV Week Logie Awards on the Gold Coast.

‘My beautiful wife, this is… you don’t get to stand up here unless you have amazing people behind you. You’re the most amazing of people,’ he said.

In true Hamish style, the funnyman joked: ‘You stole my look for tonight. I had to quickly find this. Apart from that, I think you do it better anyway. Thank you, honey.

‘And I would also like to thank, you know, little shout-out to our kids. My kids are the favourite of all kids. They can’t be here. They got last minute fake IDs and gone clubbing.’

‘But I know they’ll watch this tomorrow when I make them on YouTube,’ he quipped.

‘So to my kids winning an award is nice. But the greatest prize is to be your dad. You’re the most important.’

Hamish’s momentous win comes after Zoë pocketed $89million by selling a 50.1 per cent controlling stake of her Go-To skincare company to beauty giant BWX in August last year.

Zoë, a former magazine journalist and author, established the brand in 2014, and generated $36.8million in revenue in 2020 alone.

She had an estimated net worth of $36million in November 2020, according to a report by the Australian Financial Review at the time.
