Known for turning heads with their elaborate ensembles, the Kardashian-Jenner clan didn’t disappoint when attending Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker‘s glamorous wedding ceremony in Portofino on Sunday evening.

Kourtney, 43, looked nothing short of sensational in a figure-hugging Dolce & Gabbana minidress that boasted corset detailing and a dramatic lacy skirt and billowing train as she said ‘I do’ to the rocker, 46, in an alfresco service at the medieval Castello Brown fortress.

Keeping up with the bride, Kim Kardashian, 41, looked equally dramatic in a black dress with lace overlay across the bust, paired with an ornate gold and jewel cross choker.

Khloe Kardashian, 37, twinned in a similar gothic outfit, wearing a chic sheer tiered, off-the-shoulder black dress with lace detail and an eye-catching gold headpiece shaped like the sun.

TV & celebrity fashion expert Miranda Holder told FEMAIL that the attire – ‘more reminiscent of funerals rather than weddings’ – was an ‘unusual choice for such an occasion’ but was a ‘classic Kardashian statement dressing tactic’.

Kim, Khloe, their mother Kris and their sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner all sported Dolce & Gabbana outfits, in a move aimed at ‘elevating their family brand’, according to the stylist.

Miranda said: ‘The Kardashian’s certainly know how to put on a spectacle, and their glittering Italian wedding this weekend was no different.

‘The family are well-versed in “shock factor” tactics to stir up a media frenzy and surprise and delight their fans, and they certainly gave us all something to talk about with their mould-breaking wedding garb.

‘The first thing that catches your attention is Khloe and Kim opting for black rather than a more traditional choice of colour. This is classic Kardashian statement dressing, a tactic which has helped to propel them into the spotlight over the years.

‘Many would question whether this hue, more reminiscent of funerals rather than weddings, was appropriate – I would say it was definitely an unusual choice for such an occasion.

‘But fashion rules have become more and more outdated and this family are not afraid to set new sartorial standards, even when a wedding is concerned.

‘Wearing black created an air of mystique and intrigue, with the gothic style adding further to the drama suggesting that they were purposely defying convention with their seemingly offbeat attire.

‘Black is often worn as the epitome of luxury, being extremely chic and as always for this family was a way of drawing maximum attention.’

The fashion expert continued: ‘The entire family presented a united front in their coordinated outfits, which not only compared in colour and “style personality” but were all from the same design house, Dolce & Gabbana, a fitting choice to support the local economy, after all… “when in Rome”.

‘This is not the first time we have seen the Kardashians put on such a display of togetherness… this might be a bid to preserve or elevate their family brand.’

Kim wore her newly platinum tresses in a chic up-do and sported a smoky palette of make-up as she linked arms with her daughter North, eight, who wore a flowing black robe.

Meanwhile, Khloe carried a small black purse with a brightly coloured pink inner lining, with gold studs on the outside to match its hefty chain.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s black underwear was visible through the see-through material of her dress and she wore a gold chain around her waist with a cross hanging at the front.

She was seen teetering on a towering pair of heels as she made her way down the stone steps to the grotto area at the historic house museum Castello Brown located on a hill above Portofino harbour.

Kylie, 24, looked stunning in a silver floral dress and plum lipstick while Kendall, 26, opted for a peach floral dress with her auburn locks worn in an up-do.

Elsewhere Kris Jenner, 67, wowed in a pink floral dress as she pulled several animated expressions while walking with her daughter Kourtney during the wedding.

Kourtney, who was exchanging vows with Travis for a third time, elevated her height in a pair of cream bridal high heels, and sported a very long lacey veil that trailed on the ground behind her.

Travis, 46, was spotted arriving at the ceremony in a smart dark suit with a white shirt  as he negotiated his way through the floral displays into the garden venue.

After the ceremony some guests opted to walk up steep steps from the garden where the couple married to reach the castle terrace where the reception party was being held.

But others including mother of the bride Kris and her daughter Kim opted to step back down on to the private jetty and board one of the Riva speedboats to be taken back to Portofino harbour.

Once they alighted at the harbour in their wedding finery, they faced a short walk to a tunnel entrance in the hillside which gave them access to a private lift into the castle.

Kris smiled as she happily posed for photographs in her feathered pink outfit. When a MailOnline reporter asked her how the wedding went she replied: ‘Really great thank you.’

Another guest excitedly added that the ceremony was ‘beautiful’ as she disembarked her boat.
